Only stayed there o/n before the Brighton marathon. We did eat in the restaurant and were very happy with the quality of the food. The bar area was comfortable - just a shame that I was alcohol free in preparation for the marathon!
Everything was good for us - even the continental breakfast delivered to our room as I needed to eat early for the marathon.
the staff could be more graceful
convenience and comfort excellent breakfast
sarcastic, confusing and somewhat rude reception person on arrival, but we got over it as i guess she just didn't like us and all other staff were delightful
Great breakfast and comfortable and well set up rooms. Atmosphere suited us well - relaxing but efficiently managed and focussed. Staff informative and very helpful - ww would stay again.
Efficient check in staff. Clean comfortable room, also room was very quiet, so had a good nights sleep. Good breakfast next morning. Altogether a very pleasant overnight stay.Thank you.
Bathroom was very hot, not enough ventilation, also water kept changing suddenly from hot to cold.
The room and all the facilities were excellent. The bar food was good and so was the breakfast with good choice of food, English and continental.
The welcome when booking in was a bit half hearted.
Our stay here restored our faith in the Best Western group after we had a fairly disastrous experience at a group London hotel last year. Staff were very friendly and our room was spotlessly clean. Although we had a roadside room external noise levels were not intrusive.
The Birch is a very elegant and comfortable hotel. The staff were courteous and there was adequate parking. I only stayed for one night but I would have no hesitation in returning.
Good size bedroom and bath room. Very good breakfast for self service
All staff very pleasant and efficient. Room very comfortable and clean. Breakfast was excellent - good choice and quality. Did not eat in restaurant as was visiting friends. Reasonably convenient for town centre (15 minute walk) and a lot to do in the area.
Equidistant between town and countryside E.G. Bluebell Railway and Sheffiled Park National Trust.
It is an ideal location for family visiting for us. We have stayed previously and always get a friendly response whatever our need. The hotel itself is well cared for and managed well with staff who are helpful whenever we need help. We will visit again.
The beds were comfortable and the room and bathroom were clean
The restaurant menue was too expensive for a business trip and the bar food was not good. Very small portions and my vegetable lasagne , what there was of it, was tasteless and soggy. My husbands had fish and chips, my grandson of 7 could have eat more. I could hear next doors television .
It had been modernised since I was last there. The decor maintained the older quality setting and features well.
They did not fully understand Gluten Free, but then worked to get it right.
Very friendly staff; very helpful. The hotel is of a fairly high standard in a good location. Breakfast was excellent!
